Billy Idol agrees to play some dude's birthday party

Michael Henrichsen has been trying to get Billy Idol to play his birthday party since he stumbled into the idea back in 2010. In February of 2011, he went so far as to start Seattle’s Billy Idol Aid, which raised 281 pounds of food and $286 for charity. But Billy didn’t show up, so he did it again a few months later, this time raising over $1200 for the American Red Cross. Billy didn’t show up, so he did it a third time in November, this time raising $5200 for charity (split evenly between the Northwest Harvest and the American Red Cross).

This time, Billy Idol took notice. After thousands of dollars raised and probably a lot of begging, both from Henrichsen and from celebrities like Ron Jeremy, Rick Springfield and Duff McKagan, Billy Idol sent a video to the 4th Billy Idol aid announcing that he will finally play the guy’s birthday party. Naturally (??) Mark McGrath took to Twitter earlier to congratulate him.

Uh, anyways, the birthday concert is happening on October 26th at Seattle’s Showbox Sodo, and if you want to buy a ticket to probably watch a guy in his mid-20s steal a lock of Billy Idol’s hair then you totally can.
