Humans / dancers and Mitt Romney’s favourite band the Killers have announced their participation in American Express Unstaged, a live webcast series that you definitely watched when Terry Gilliam directed the Arcade Fire’s stream from Madison Square Garden.
None other than Werner Herzog will be directing the Killers’ September 18 and 19 shows at the Paradise Theatre in the Bronx. But fair warning—knowing Herzog, shit is going to get weird when you tune in to the band’s YouTube to watch. Our sister site Pop Hunter has compiled a list of potential director’s notes, and here, 9 other weird things that could happen.
Chicken hypnosis
Full band performance hypnosis (like Heart of Glass, but with more anthemic disco songs)
With help from Errol Morris, Ed Gein’s mother’s corpse used for set dressing
Herzog is shot by that sniper (again), forced to vacate duties to Assistant Director
Iguanas on everything all the time.
Moves show to edge of active volcano
Soothes band and crew pre-show jitters by jumping into a cactus
Releases 11,000 rats (again) into the Paradise mid-set
Stops filming band and just monologues directly into camera about the overwhelming and collective murder of the jungle
