There’s still no word from either DJ Drama or Lil Wayne as to whether Dedication 4 will actually be released today, which has us thinking that it’s about to get pushed back yet again. We decided to help out Weezy with a bunch of ready-made excuses, so he can assuage the ire of his eager fans.

Hip-hop album delays seem to be pretty commonplace lately. Kendrick Lamar pushed good kid, m.A.A.d. city back to October 22nd. Mellowhype pushed Numbers back to October 9th. G.O.O.D. Music’s Cruel Summer has been pushed back to the point that it’s officially not even going to come out in the summer anymore.

Fans of Lil Wayne have spent the summer months waiting patiently for his DJ Drama-hosted Dedication 4 mixtape. Originally set for an August 15th release, Weezy decided to push it back, so that the spotlight would shine properly on his friend 2 Chainz, whose Def Jam debut came out on the same day. A week later, Wayne took to Twitter to announce the revised release date:

Some of Lil Wayne’s fans were up until after midnight last night, expecting the mixtape to arrive on DatPiff in the early hours of the morning. I guess they didn’t get the message that DJ Drama sent out via Twitter around 8PM PST (11PM EST):

Lil Wayne fans needed a martyr, and it looked like DJ Drama was their best option. The hashtag #BlameDJDrama trended worldwide last night.
