It's been a wild few days for Canada's latest contribution to the world of pop, Carly Rae Jepsen, as she's allegedly had her private photos hacked and released a new single with Owl City.

It’s been a wild few days for Canada’s latest contribution to the world of pop, Carly Rae Jepsen. The week began with the emergence of a sexy video making the rounds on the Internet purported to be the “Call Me Maybe” singer in a private moment of romantic entanglement. Jepsen was quick to counter the allegations:

But while that footage appears to be some non-famous person with boring, non-famous breasts, TMZ is reporting that earlier this year, Jepsen was forced to contact Vancouver police after photos of her were hacked from her computer, forcing a criminal investigation. If these pictures were to leak, Carly Rae would become the latest in a recent litany of stars like Scarlett Johansson, Christina Hendricks and Olivia Munn to have their private photos leak to the Internet. Truly, we are living in the golden age of celebrity privacy invasion. It’s enough to make even the most jaded pervert tear up.

In far more positive news, Jepsen has released her first video single since the runaway, all-encompassing success of “Call Me Maybe,” a team-up with one-man electronica outfit Owl City that may indeed be the most fun video in existence. Slurpees! Camping! Flower bracelets! Criticize it if you must, but it’s going to feel like blowing out a child’s sparkler.
