What a weird feeling to have No Doubt and Green Day each release new singles on the same day. Nostalgia has been a booming business for (especially) a few years now, but here are two bands who are probably tied to a similar time in your past life, still recording and releasing new music, conspiring to make the internet kinda 90s for the day.

Let’s look at No Doubt first. “Settle Down” is a Major Lazer produced grower, not a shower. Sophie Muller (who directed “Don’t Speak”) directed the new video and that’ll be out later tonight, and it apparently depicts the band travelling to come together after spending the past ten-ish years apart doing things that aren’t No Doubt. Aww. Still love this band.

Green Day hit a new stride on American Idiot then started taking themselves a bit too seriously. This doesn’t sound to be an improvement since then. “Oh Love” is the first single from Uno!, the first in an album trilogy oh no.

Which do you like better? WE VOTE NO DOUBT.
