The Who are taking 1973’s Quadrophenia on the road and it seems like they’re going to turn the clock back in more than one way, announcing that they’ll honour tickets from a cancelled 1979 concert at an upcoming gig in Rhode Island. Because who wouldn’t want to see two geriatrics (and some ringers) perform a 40-year-old album three decades too late?

This of course is assuming that any tickets that have been held onto this long are actually legible enough to redeem. The venue’s manager says he expects to see a few original ticket holders at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center next February, which is when this is all happening.

The silver-lining is that he’s hoping to use the old tickets to raise money for the Rhode Island Special Olympics. How he plans to turn faded pieces of paper into charity, we’re not sure, but hey. A for Effort, right? The final show on the tour, the gig in question is scheduled for February 26 at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island. [via Spin]
