Ice-T and Madonna expressed different ideas about censorship, gun control this past weekend—guess which one was super ignorant about it

As she’s been doing throughout her MDNA tour, Madonna went on stage and pointed an AK47 at the crowd at a concert on Saturday, pretending to shoot people in the audience with the sounds of gunfire raining out in the background. Let us remind you that this was one day after a lunatic shot up a movie theatre in Colorado.
But don’t worry, Madonna knows that. She was warned by Scottish not to brandish the replica guns on stage (she also swings a pistol towards the crowd before pointing it at herself).
“Her entire career, she has fought against people telling her what she can and cannot do. She’s not about to start listening to them now,” said one of her tour staffers to the Huffington Post.
“Madonna would rather cancel her show than censor her art,” he added, completely missing the point. “That works,” said probably every one else on the planet.
As WWTDD points out, Madonna’s tour comes through Denver on October 18th.
But Madonna isn’t the only irrelevant artist weighing in on guns. “Cop Killer” turned TV Cop Ice-T was on a British talk show over the weekend when the host took the opportunity to ask the Ice Loves Coco star about why he’s so defensive about gun ownership (video below).
As you’d expect, Ice’s argument was much more lucid than Madge’s, if not a little preachy. He starts by saying he’ll give up his gun when “everybody else does” before ending on an old argument.
“The right to bear arms is because that’s the last form of defence against tyranny, not to hunt. It’s to protect yourself from the police,” he said to host Krishnan Guru-Murthy. “United States is based on guns,” he later added. “We’ll never have justice on stolen land.”
We don’t know what that means, but it sure makes for one hell of a soundbite.
