Speaking of things that Kanye doesn’t like, apparently having laser pointers shined in his face is definitely not one of them. At a Watch The Throne concert date in Paris this weekend, Kanye lashed out at a crowd member for flashing a green laser pointer at him during a performance of the song “Flashing Lights.”

Speaking of things that Kanye doesn’t like, apparently having laser pointers shined in his face is definitely not one of them.

At a Watch The Throne concert date in Paris (side note: wouldn’t that be the perfect place to see the WTT Tour?) this weekend, Kanye lashed out at a crowd member for flashing a green laser pointer at him during a performance of the song “Flashing Lights.”

“Don’t fuck with the lasers back there. Don’t fuck with it, you’re fucking with everybody’s show. Chill.”

“Stop it, stop it, stop it. You see this guy here with the green laser? Don’t fuck with everybody’s show. This is not a fucking game. Sit down, we don’t fuck around like that, you’re gonna get fucked up and kicked out and all that shit, so chill the fuck out. Let’s go.”

How ironic is it that the laser-happy crowd member got told off right before “Flashing Lights”? It would have been even better if it was right before “All Of The Lights”:

“Nah, nah. Stop it. I know I say ‘All Of The Lights’ but really, not ALL of the lights. Every single light, except for yours. Chill.”

Also, if you look at that photo (see above) of the show, THERE ARE GREEN LASERS EVERYWHERE. But really, Kanye is in the right this time. I wouldn’t want to catch a laser pointer in the eye while performing either.

No unauthorized lasers, Paris. Behave.

The best musician lights-related freak-out is still from Billy Joel’s infamous show in 1987 Soviet Russia, where he flies off the handle at the lighting director. A crew was filming the concert, and every time the lighting director would shine a light on the audience, they would freeze and become paranoid, wondering why they were having lights shined on them. Billy repeatedly screamed “Stop lighting the audience,” smashed several microphones stands, and even tipped over his own piano in a blind fit of rage. He manages not to miss a note, though, so that’s impressive.
