It seems like Pitbull was trying to recreate the chart-topping magic of “Give Me Everything” on the first single from his upcoming album Global Warming. Pitbull has recruited Latina superstar Shakira for “Get It Started,” a massive club anthem produced by both Afrojack and RedOne.
Fresh off of his terrible theme song for Men In Black 3, Pitbull’s new single has leaked online.

A collaboration like these seems destined for chart supremacy, but for us, the song falls flat. Shakira’s throaty warble sounds comical at best, and Pitbull spews nonsensical lines throughout the track, including “To all these rappers I apologize, I know it ain’t fair / the only ball I drop — New Years, Times Square.” Is Mr. Worldwide trying to subtly announce that he’s the new Dick Clark? Watch out, Seacrest, Pitbull is after your job.
Regardless of what we think about it, this song will definitely be a summer hit. Listen to it below:
