Kid Koala’s got a new album on the way, and this time he’s reportedly done things a little differently.

12 Bit Blues is the realization of Eric San’s childhood dream of working with an E-mu SP-1200, and the resulting album is described in a press release as a “really raw, immediate and strangely beautiful.”

Made without sequencing software, Kid Koala stripped, chopped and screwed the music on 12 Bit Blues with the pads on the machine and a multi-track recorder. You’ll be able to hear what comes of it when 12 Bit Blues hits stores on September 18th.
