Former Coheed and Cambria bassist Michael Todd has reportedly pleaded guilty to charges stemming from an incident last summer, during which Todd robbed a Massachusetts based Walgreens of Oxycontin just hours before he was set to perform with Soundgarden. As the story goes, Todd reportedly showed the store’s pharmacist a message on his phone claiming he had a bomb before fleeing the scene with six bottles of the popular narcotic.

Not long after the arrest, Coheed and Cambria unsurprisingly announced that they’d parted way with Todd.

For his part in the crime, Todd has been sentenced to one year of home confinement and three years probation. He’s also being asked to continue drug treatment.

Unfortunately that’s the tip of the iceberg for Todd, with the Boston Sun Chronicle noting that Todd is reportedly also dealing with cancer.

While his lawyer had no comments on the bassist’s possible illness, we’ll extend our hopes that he gets better soon. His ongoing struggles with addiction aside, Todd is one hell of a bassist.
