There’s just no way this event is important enough to warrant a production of this magnitude, but I’ve gotta admit, I’m curious as to what major announcement the Boss is going to make today at 1pm. Once the dust settles, we’ll update you on what exactly was so press conference-worthy.

There’s just no way this event is important enough to warrant a production of this magnitude, but I’ve gotta admit, I’m curious as to what major announcement the Boss is going to make today at 1pm.

Could it be a platform for Rozay to finally announce the release details for God Forgives, I Don’t?

I sure hope not, because it says “GOD FORGIVES, I DON’T Coming Soon!” on Island DefJam’s press conference announcement page. If Rick Ross called a press conference just to stand up there and say “It’s coming out in October,” I’ll be pissed. I don’t think an announcement of that caliber needs to have the same grandeur as President Obama’s State of the Union.

Here are a few announcements that I think WOULD warrant this kind of hub-bub:

– The confirmation of the rumoured Rick Ross/Drake collaborative YOLO mixtape
Self Made Vol. 2 will be released on 180 g vinyl, with a die-cut etching of Rick Ross’ belly on one side
– Meek Mill is changing his name to Bold Mill
– Maybach Music just signed Tim Tebow (now known as T-Bow) to a 4 album deal.

We’ll fire off the streaming link via @auxpop, where we’ll also be live-tweeting the announcement at 1pm EST. Once the dust settles, we’ll update you on what exactly was so press conference-worthy.

UPDATE:

After over an hour of delays, technical difficulties, special appearances by Swizz Beats & Diddy, Rozay and MMG made the following announcements:

– A new Reebok Big & Tall clothing line, endorsed by Rick Ross.
– Wale announces that “Self Made Vol. 2” is dropping June 26th, 212. A new Wale album will drop first week of January 2013.
– Meek Mill’s “Dream Chasers 2” mixtape coming May 7th, and debut album “Dreams and Nightmares” coming Aug 28th, 2012.
– Rick Ross’ “God Forgives, I Don’t” coming July 31st, 2012.
– Omarion has officially signed to MMG, expect an EP and 4-5 music videos soon.
– French Montana’s “Excuse My French” will be released
