J Dilla’s mom, Maureen “Ma Dukes” Yancy, has started a record label dedicated to her son, AllHipHop reports. Taking its name from his 2003 EP, Ruff Draft Records will revolve around Dilla’s massive back catalogue.

As you’d probably expect, the massive collection of unreleased tapes found in a Royal Oak record store will probably come in handy in getting the label off its feet, but first to hit shelves will be Rebirth of Detroit, from which we shared “Jay-Dee’s Revenge” last week.

Don’t worry, though: Yancy swears she’s doing it out of love for the music.

“I’m a Hip-Hop head and I love it,” she told AllHipHop.

“We want to make it more feasible to interact with these children, we don’t know how many J. Dilla’s we have out there,” she also said. “Somebody has to find them.”

Rebirth of Detroit come out on June 12th.
