This is just a very sweet account of a 65-year-old woman who went to Coachella by herself and the fun she had setting up camp and people watching and learning about contemporary music. Some choice quotes on the music:

“Saturday was my wander-the-grounds time, viewing all the art, riding the Ferris wheel and sampling the Vaccines (loud), Destroyer (hippie-alternative sound I liked), Black Lips (liked their “Family Tree”), Borgore and AWOLNATION (Yikes!), Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds (not very exciting), and the sexy performer who plays guitar like a male, Grace Potter, and the Nocturnals. This was all before The Shins, who blew me away.”

Also, she calls the Black Keys “really professional entertainers, not depending on stage gimmicks at all.” I love this. Read the whole thing here.
