In February of 2011, the Polaris Music Prize launched its Record Salon series, a live event during which members of the Polaris jury in various cities across Canada argue for their favourite new release currently under consideration for the 2012 ballot.

Ranging from artist interviews and album listening events to multiple juror debates, the Salon presents the jury’s process to the public; now, AUX is happy to launch a free, downloadable podcast of each Polaris Record Salon. The podcast is available through AUX.tv and AUX’s iTunes podcast channel.

This week’s episode comes from Montreal’s Half Year in Review event, moderated by Polaris founder Steve Jordan, and featuring Sean Michaels (SaidTheGramophone, The Guardian), Erik Leijon (Montreal Mirror) and Emilie Côté (La Presse) discussing albums released in the first half of the year that will likely make their ballot.
