Owen Pallett and Linkin Park aren’t exactly an obvious match made in heaven, but that doesn’t mean they can’t work together. And, as Spin reports, that’s exactly what happened.

Apparently Pallett, obviously playing the violin, adds his chops to “I’ll Be Gone,” a track off Linkin Park’s upcoming, as of yet unnamed follow-up to 2010’s A Thousand Suns. We can neither confirm nor deny whether Pallett was forced to grow a goatee for the collaboration.

“He’s incredible,” says Bennington of Pallett. “You send him notes and he’s immediately like, ‘I just sent you the track. Like, five minutes ago. It’s done.’ ”

While the new album doesn’t have a title or release date yet (June is the rumour), first single “Burn It Down” is set to come out next week on April 16th.
