We’re not sure what the upcoming solo EP from Interpol’s Paul Banks is going to sound like, but we’ll wager that it’s not sample-based hip-hop, which makes this next bit of news all the more intriguing.

According to a post on Ology, the EP, Julian Plenti Lives will feature a cover of J Dilla’s “Mythsysizer” alongside renditions of Frank Sinatra and Harold Faltermeyer covers.

We’re not sure how he’ll pull it off, though the song’s heavy use of piano tells us he certainly can. But if anything, this should drive up interest for the EP’s June 12th release, which is limited to 2300 10″s and 1500 CDs.
