Cat Power announces new album, 'Sun', expected out this fall

Cat Power’s been pretty silent since she bookended 2008 with a series of cover albums (Jukebox in January and the Dark End of the Street EP in December), but she broke the silence over the weekend with a series of tweets announcing that she’d finished her new album and that it’ll be called Sun.
And… that’s about all we know, though Pitchfork says Matador expects the album to be out in the Fall. Cat Power sort of confirmed this on Twitter with a reply to a fan (which we can’t see since his or her account is protected) in which she says Sun would be out September 11th.
