These tracks have been up online from just over a week to a few days now (which is like, an eternity in internet time), but we hadn’t gotten around to them till now.
Cadence Weapon uploaded a song with a beat by his “homegirl” Grimes called “88,” as well as a song called “Loft Party,” dedicated to the insidery after-hours scene in Montreal. “This is the loft party anthem,” Cadence writes. “R.I.P. kHz, Circles, the Emergency Room, Red Gate, !059, the Peanut Gallery, Lab Synthese, Silver Door, Torn Curtain and all the other after-hours establishments I’ve played at.”
Listen to both below.
