Whitney Houston, who died Saturday, reportedly found submerged in her Beverly Hilton hotel room bathtub, will have her final movie released this coming summer.

Sparkle, which features Houston as the mother of three sisters in a Supremes-like musical group, is set for release on August 17. Houton had also recorded new songs for the film’s soundtrack, though the release date for that has yet to be confirmed.

The project was the latest in an attempted return to form for the troubled star. Houston was honoured at the 54th annual Grammy Awards last night with a prayer at the beginning and a performance of “I Will Always Love You” by Jennifer Hudson. Houston was 48. [via Rolling Stone]
