Watch OK Go record a song with a moving car and over 1000 instruments in their new video "Needing/Getting"

Video band OK Go partnered with Chevrolet to make their ambitious new video (which doubles as a Chevy Superbowl commercial), outfitting the car with mics and retractable arms and driving it through the desert, playing over 1000 instruments with its appendages along the way.
The video, directed by Brian L. Perkins & Damian Kulash, Jr. , required four months of prep (including singer Damian Kulash taking stunt driving lessons) and four days of shooting and recording. The pianos had their lowest octaves tuned to the same note in order to be consistent no matter where the arms struck the keys. It’s all quite musically discordant, but as usual with OK Go, visually, it’s great.
