One of the first things most fans likely thought upon hearing about At the Drive-In’s upcoming reunion at Coachella was the possibility of new music, but the band’s guitarist Omar Rodriguez-Lopez has come out to crush all of your hopes and dreams.

“Will there be a new album? No, no, no,” he told Kerrang. “At the Drive-In is more of a nostalgia thing–it’s songs we wrote when we were all in our 20s and we’re doing a couple of shows.”

He only got more candid from there.

“We’re not getting any younger and there’s been an offer of money every year,” said Rodriguez-Lopez to NME. “You’d be a fool and a politician to pretend that wasn’t part of it.”

He later joked that the reunion was like getting back with your ex-wife, “only in this case there are four ex-wives!”
