Lil Jon's "Drink": A Numerical Analysis

Lil Jon just released a new video for his single “Drink.” The video, directed by Ballard C. Boyd, takes place in a nursing home. The elderly patrons seem docile and subdued, until the orderly leaves for his break. When the orderly is away, the seniors will play. What ensues is a pretty disturbing display of unabashed partydom from a bunch of freaky geezers.

Video aside, what can we say about the song? I’m sure you remember “Shots,” by LMFAO and Lil Jon. Is this meant to be a sequel? It’s a pretty cheesy re-write of a very successful collaboration, and when you break it down there’s not a lot of substance here. So we thought, why not give this song more attention than it deserves? As if we were about to turn this song into an excessive drinking game, let’s find out exactly how many times Lil Jon can say “Drink!” in four and a half minutes.
So, if you were going to turn “Drink” by Lil Jon into a drinking game of sorts, by the end of four and a half minutes (if you followed all of Lil Jon’s commanding instructions) you would have consumed 116 + 24 + 35 = 178 drinks.
Just for context, let’s see how many times Lil Jon & LMFAO say “Shots!” during their 2009 club anthem.
Though Lil Jon and the Party Rock crew reference many more brands of booze (Ciroc, Patron, Jagerbombs, Lemon Drops, Buttery Nipples, Jello Shots, Kamikazes, 3 Wise Men, and Gin), the grand total of the times they say shots is… 74!
So if “Drinks” = 116 and “Shots” = 74, one can conclude that “Shots” is only 64% as extreme as “Drinks.”
