You’re not alone if you thought Tenacious D’s The Pick of Destiny was a bomb, because in the new, self-titled single off their newly announced Rize of the Fenix the cock rock twosome jokes about their film’s less than stellar performance. But then, with his usual bombast, Jack Black sings the hook, “just like the phoenix, we’ll fucking rise again.”

And it seems they will. Not only has the D been announced for Sasquatch 2012, but Rize of the Fenix is expected out as early as May. Details are scarce, but there’s a teaser for the album’s first single (below) which hints at a return to the band’s roots….whatever that means. No word on whether the above image is art for the single or album itself, but it’s certainly up the band’s alley, an awful turn of phrase when combined with the incredibly phallic bird donning its cover.
