Soundgarden singer Chris Cornell got into some trouble last month when he called Kanye West a retard on stage in Australia, but he might have redeemed himself after breaking up an argument in an airport after hearing a homophobic slur tossed around.

According to the New York Post, Cornell broke up an argument in a Seattle Airport lounge between two men in business suits when one called the other a “queer” after he made a pro-Obama statement.

Cornell, who was on his way to perform at an Obama fundraiser in San Franciso, reportedly broke up the altercation, taking exception to the one man’s homophobic slur.

“You’re a [bleep]. You deliberately called him a queer to make him feel uncomfortable in front of a lot of people,” said Cornell.

The offending homophobe was asked to leave the lounge shortly thereafter. Here’s hoping somebody slow clapped.
