Van Halen announce North American tour with Canadian dates in support of new, David Lee Roth-fronted album

It’s been a long time coming and surely there’re a lot of people waiting on this: Van Halen have announced a North American tour starting next month in support of their upcoming album A Different Kind of Truth.

The reason for the appeal (?), of course, is that this is the first album of original material the band has recorded with David Lee Roth since before you were born, maybe, in 1984. The album’s first single, “Tattoo,” is expected on Tuesday.

Though with one old member comes a new(ish)—Van Halen’s original bass player and backing vocalist, Michael Anthony, has been gone since 2006, replaced by guitarist Eddie Van Halen’s teenage son, Wolfgang.
