The Killers will release a new album this year

In a new interview with BBC Radio 1’s Zane Lowe, Killers singer and Mormon Church commercial star Brandon Flowers said the band will “definitely” have an album out in 2012. “It’s just whether it’s the summertime or the wintertime.”

Flowers and Killers drummer Ronnie Vannucci both released solo projects since the band’s last album, 2008’s Day & Age, but Flowers said they’ve also made time for already finishing some “killer” new Killers tunes.”Battle Born” is the name of a completed one, Flowers said, adding that the new album will be a culmination of the best of what they’ve done so far.

“We don’t want to make Hot Fuss 2 or Sam’s Town 2, or Day & Age 2. We’ll maybe take all that stuff, the best of all of it and do what we know how to do.” [via Spin]
