This week in Politicians Who Stupidly Use A Song Without Permission and Get Called Out On the Internet, Cyndi Lauper’s “True Colors” and Mitt Romney.

The singer received a message about her 1986 hit “True Colours” being used without permission in a Mitt Romney attack, and while she makes it clear she doesn’t support Romney, she also says she doesn’t want her song used that way.

“Got a phone call saying my version of ‘True Colors’ was used in commercial trashing Romney,” she tweeted. “Not that I’m a supporter, I’m not. [But] Romney can discredit himself without the use of my work.”

And just like that, the online ad was taken down. Politicians: never learning.
