Okay, in case any of that made your head spin, let us first draw your attention to the video above. It’s some strange celebrity endorsement video that Megaupload put on Youtube late last week. Universal Music Group almost immediately filed a copyright claim (it featured some of their artists, such as will.i.am. and Macy Gray) and the video was taken off Youtube. But Megaupload is prepared to fight THE MAN, claiming they own everything in the video.

“We have signed agreements with every featured artist for this campaign,” Megaupload founder Kim Dotcom told Torrentfreak.

The video features everyone from Kanye West to Alicia Keys and, um Kim Kardashian—just anyone who is progressive or something and is maybe kind of inadvertently promoting and supporting the illegal spread of their art.

Univeral says that some of the artists did not consent to being portrayed in the video, and that takedown notices have been filed by the artists or their rep. [via Vulture]
