Since it’s impossible to address the total madness of the music industry in only five days, Pop Uncultured saves some of the week’s strangest stories for Friday afternoon. Enjoy?

A woman got Drake‘s name tattooed on her forehead [FULL STORY]

And you thought your week was bad.

A study claims louder music leads to higher alcohol consumption

NME reports that a study at the University of Portsmouth has revealed that “loud music makes people drink more alcohol and at a faster rate” since the sweetness of alcoholic drinks is intensified upon volume increase. Said concerned parents:

Wilco‘s Jeff Tweedy is now kind of a weatherman [FULL STORY]

Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy temporarily took over Chicago TV station WGN TV on Thursday morning to give the local weather report to fortunate Illinois citizens. “I don’t know what else to say,” he said, standing in front of the green screen. “You can read, I hope. You can operate a TV.” Not if the recession has hit us as hard as it’s obviously hit you, Jeff. 🙁

J Lo keeps making commercials

And there’s nothing we can do to get her to stop.

Lana Del Rey released her video for “Born To Die” [FULL STORY]

After the leak of her latest single peaked the interest of anyone with the internet, Lana Del Rey finally released the video for “Born To Die,” an “artistic” piece that includes tigers, tattoos and the storyline of both Eminem‘s “Stan” and Marissa Cooper’s death scene.

Fortunately, in time to squash plagiarism rumours, the painting I believe the video to be based on has finally surfaced:

Mick Jagger is still friends with will.i.am and they’ve made music

Posing the age-old ultimatum, “You can go hard or you can go home,” Mick Jagger, will.i.am, and Jennifer Lopez have released a song that sounds exactly what you think a song created by Mick Jagger, will.i.am and Jennifer Lopez would sound like. Whether or not this is actually just an elaborate Saturday Night Live sketch remains to be seen. [via Vulture]

Taran Killam of Saturday Night Live recreated Robyn‘s “Call Your Girlfriend” flawlessly

And speaking of SNL sketches I wish existed, this:

Shaquille O’Neal and a puppet lip-synced to Kanye West [FULL STORY]

I knew my final Kazaam wish would finally come true.

R Kelly is going to host his own cruise

Vulture reports that on October 1, 2012, the Love Letter Cruise will officially set sail, hitting up Grand Turk, Half Moon and the Bahamas, and featuring everyone’s favourite crooner performing two concerts on the rest of the voyage. Of course with announcements like that one can’t help but wonder: what will he be doing for the other four days? :/

Kanye West is back on Twitter

And this is ALL HE WANTS FOR XMAS!

I will return this, then:
