Paul McCartney has announced a new album for February 7, featuring only two new compositions of his own, with the rest to be covers of songs that influenced him as a new music fan.

“I realized how well-structured these songs were, and I think I took a lot of my lessons from them,” McCartney said in a press release. “I always thought artists like Fred Astaire were very cool. Writers like Harold Arlen, Cole Porter, all of those guys. I just thought the songs were magical.”

McCartney will not be playing any instruments on the album, and will instead be accompanied by Diana Krall’s band.

Eric Clapton and Stevie Wonder will also make guest appearances on the album, which is yet untitled. [via Rolling Stone]
