Grant Lawrence announces a new book chronicling the career of The Smugglers

CBC Radio 3 host, author, and musician Grant Lawrence has announced that he’ll be following up his 2010 book Adventures in Solitude with two more in the coming few years.

First up in the spring of 2013 will be a must-have for the bookshelves of all Canadian music nerds out there: the yet-untitled work “chronicles Grant’s life through the gritty indie music world” with his band The Smugglers, according to a press release.

The second book, out in 2014, will be about hockey, which is another thing that people care about I think.

Both books will be released through Douglas & McIntyre. “I’m extremely excited about joining the Douglas & McIntyre team. They’re celebrating their 40th year as a publisher, and I’m celebrating my 40th year as a human being”, says Lawrence. “I’m also a huge fan of many of the books D+M have published over the years.”
