The Boss is coming, look busy!

Sorry. But the Boss IS coming, to this year’s SXSW festival, where it’s been announced he’ll be this year’s keynote speaker.

“[Springsteen’s] recordings include time-tested classics of rock and acoustic-based albums celebrating folk traditions,” read the SXSW statement. “His live shows are truly fervent celebrations of the communal power of music. As SXSW fosters connection and communication in the music community, this event will undoubtedly further those aims in an unique conference session.”

The keynote will be open to Music and Platinum registrants and registered showcasing artists, and will take place Thursday, March 15, 2012 at the Austin Convention Center.

Springsteen also recently announced a new album and tour for the new year, so there’s a chance the two could coincide somewhat.
