Best Coast drummer Ali Koehler leaves the band, says it was not her choice

“Cat’s outta the bag,” tweeted Best Coast drummer Ali Koehler earlier this week. “I’m not in Best Coast anymore.”

When fans asked her the reason for her departure, Koehler didn’t really have an answer. “Your guess is as good as mine,” she said, followed by “I’m sorry, I’m equally disappointed.”

Best Coast are at work on a new album with producer Jon Brion. It was first reported that Koehler had left the band on Hipster Runoff (yes really).
