Dr. Dre says he’s taking a break from music, and really, who can blame him? You’d be exhausted too if you’d spent eleven years working on an album that, at this rate, will probably never come out. Plus it’s got to be hard work selling headphones to basketball players.

“I’m never gonna stop music, it’s like air to me. [But] I’m [going to] take a little bit of a break. Enjoy some time with the family ’til I get that itch to get back in,” said Dre to World Entertainment News Network.

“The longest I’ve ever been out of the studio in 27 years is two weeks,” he adds, begging the question of…seriously? 27 years and three albums? Sure, he’s a producer, too, and he’ll see those duties out vying to hold off his hiatus until finishing work with Slim Da Mobster and Kendrick Lamar, but come on. Find the time to finish Detox, dude. For your own sake, because a few years from now nobody’s going to want to hear a millionaire in his 50s rap about bitches and blunts. Not even Snoop Dogg.
