Look I know old bands from your adolescence reuniting is fun and all, but did we need this one?

When The Tea Party reunited back in the summer we didn’t think too much of it, but now they’ve announced a larger-scale Canadian tour and that they’ll be recording a new album in Australia next year.

“This is not a victory lap, that’s for sure,” singer/guitarist Jeff Martin told Canoe. “This is permanent.”

He went on to describe what it was like getting back together with his bandmates, bassist Stuart Chatwood and drummer Jeff Burrows, after not speaking for the six years since their split.

“Walking into that space the first day, I think everyone was a bag of nerves. The first song we played was “The River” off our first album,” Martin tells Canoe. “And the moment the band kicked in, it was like an exotic sports car just started up.”

The band is also still open to the idea of selling their web domain to the American political party of the same name, though the reunion itself is not about the money at all Martin said, no way siree.
