Following the raid and eviction of Occupy Wall Street in New York’s Zuccotti park early Tuesday morning, Toronto’s site was served eviction notices as well, causing Canadian folk icon Gordon Lightfoot to make an appearance not as a performer, but as a parent—his daughter has been camped out at the protest in St. James Park since October 15.

Of course, local media were on site all day as well, and as the National Post puts it, they got bored at the mostly quiet affair, and ” descended hungrily on [Lightfoot] and his daughter,” snapping pictures and asking questions.

“I can only hope that something of some sort can be accomplished from it,” Lightfoot said to CTV [via Spinner]. “I don’t exactly know what that would be. I’m not really much into the political aspect of things. You know, I’m sort of like a normal person, you know.”

A judge has issued a stay on the site, giving the protestors at least until the weekend to remain in the park until a final decision is made on the weekend.
