Remember when we told you that one of John Lennon’s teeth could go for more than $16,000 at auction? It did. A lot more, actually, nearly doubling the early estimate by selling for a whopping £19,500 to Canadian dentist Michael Zuk. According to today’s exchange rates, that means Zuk spent $31,728 Canadian on a tooth. Think about that for a second..
The Alberta-based dentist and author of the book Confessions of a Former Cosmetic Dentist reportedly won the bid over the phone.
“Once I heard it was up for sale I had to have it,” said Zuk to BBC News, noting that he plans on displaying the tooth in his offices before hopefully taking it on a tour of dental schools and surgeries.
“Some people will think its gross, others will be fascinated by it.”
Or both. Probably both, actually.
