The Iceland Airwaves festival is currently taking place in Reykjavík, and last night, an apt collboration took place as Yoko Ono and the Plastic Ono band invited Merrill Garbus—aka, of course, tUnE-yArDs—on stage to perform the band’s song “We’re All Water.”
Garbus did her mesmerizing loopy percussive thing and was joined at the end by Ono herself, who added some trademark yelping Ono vocals. The song ended with Ono praising the singer; “She’s great, right?” she asked the crowd. Indeed, Yoko. You know.
