The opening of a 2008 pre-fame J. Cole video, “Lost Ones,” reads “With just a Dollar and a Dream, this video was shot in 2008 before I even had a record deal. 3 years later, watching it still gives me the same emotions. This is dedicated to the Lost Ones.”
The video features Cole in the midst of a life-changing event—his girlfriend’s pregnancy. The verses go bank and forth between his own perspective and his girlfriend’s, and the clip ends with Cole looking at an empty playground. You can watch the video above. [via Vulture]
