As financial sectors worldwide are occupied by protesters frustrated by the current economic client, one of the world’s unlikeliest success stories seems poised to join them. Rolling Stone reports today that one-time reggae sensations UB40 have declared bankruptcy, adding that in addition to having their assets seized and future royalties claimed by liquidators the British pop sensations will also be forced to fess up “around $88,000” to pay their legal fees.
UB40 first dominated the charts in 1983 with their cover of Neil Diamond’s “Red Red Wine,” later reclaiming the top spot with covers of Sonny and Cher’s “I Got You Babe” and Elvis Presley’s “I Can’t Help Falling in Love with You.”
