Garbage return with a cover of U2's "Who’s Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses"

90s relics Garbage have been sequestered away in the studio making a new album for sometime now, and while no details on the release are yet known, today, we get our first listen to a new song from the band in a long time. Well, sort of. It’s a U2 cover, which is part of all the Achtung Baby 20th anniversary stuff going down, this one courtesy of Q magazine (part of a compilation that also features U2 covers by Nine Inch Nails, Depeche Mode and Jack White).

Hearing this song, we remember that what we might miss most about Garbage might just be Shirley Manson; her voice sounds so familiar, that edge not softened by maturity, just made richer. Listen to Garbage’s cover of “Who’s Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses” below. [via Consequence of Sound]
