MTV is probably used to printing the Black Eyed Peas name ad nauseum, so it’s almost forgiveable that last year they sent the Black Keys their VMA award (for “Tighten Up, which won in the Breakthrough Video category) with the wrong band name printed on it. But being a bit of sassmeister, the blues duo’s guitarist Dan Auerbach recently told GQ that he’s thinking of getting the mistake fixed.

“We figured that we should get proper ones made with our names on it, because in 20 years, nobody’s going to know who the Black Eyed Peas are. We’d have this stupid award with Black Eyed Peas on it and nobody’s going to get the joke.”

Whether we’ll be so lucky as to forget one of the best selling bands of the decade twenty years from now we can’t say, but we’ll go this far: Dan Auerbach has a reason to be bitchy.
