For a band whose sound is predicated on a bygone era, the Black Keys certainly went new-school complex with the sort-of announcement of their next album (or song or whatever).

Rather than just announcing that their next album would be called El Camino and that it’d be out December 6th, the commercial-dominating duo enlisted Bob Odenkirk for a Funny or Die sponsored video in which the Mr. Show and Breaking Bad alumnus treats the band’s automotively named next album as an actual car (even though an El Camino isn’t a van).

But it’s more than a cute commercial: the announcement comes with an entire viral campaign. Fans who visited WannaBuyAVan.com were treated with a number that, when called, played an automated message from Patrick Carney.

Watch the commercial up top.

UPDATE: As expected, the Black Keys have confirmed that El Camino will in fact be the title of their next album. It’s lead single, “Lonely Boy,” should be out October 26th and they’ve also gone and given us a tracklist, which you can see down low:

01. Lonely Boy
02. Dead and Gone
03. Gold on the Ceiling
04. Little Black Submarines
05. Money Maker
06. Run Right Back
07. Sister
08. Hell of a Season
09. Stop Stop
10. Nova Baby
11. Mind Eraser
