Watch Ryan Adams perform a new song, "Ashes & Fire"

Here’s something we never thought we’d say: Ryan Adams is finally releasing a new album this fall and he put out this video of him performing the title track as a bonus for anyone who pre-ordered the upcoming Ashes & Fire.

Since we’re all selfish leeches, we’ve got the clip up top for you to watch, but if it’s any indication, this is the album Adams fans have actually been waiting for. No ironic metal covers, no well-meaning but ill-advised tributes, just classic, stripped down alt-country. After years of over-saturation, Adams has taken his time with this one: it’s out October 11th, over a year since his Orion hit shelves (III/IV came out in December of 2010, but it was recorded for years prior to that).

Ashes & Fire will be his first solo album since 2005’s 25. Well, there’s Orion, but I think we’ve all chosen to forget that one. [via TwentyFourBit]
