Fifteen years ago today, influential rapper Tupac Shakur was killed in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas.

“It was Tupac’s greatest wish to inspire minds and spark the ideas that would change the world,” the rapper’s estate told AllHipHop.com in a statement released today. “It is the greatest privilege of 2pac.com and Universal Music Enterprises to keep his music and message available to all.”

What that means, apparently, is a special section of 2pac.com that will feature feature “articles about Tupac’s work, videos about his life and stories from fans, who have been touched by his work.”

Meanwhile, the LA Times has compiled a few of Tupac’s greatest, speaking to the dreamlike notion of “a great number of his fans and theorists [who] hold on to the hope that Shakur has been among us all along and that he will one day rise again.”
