There was a time when it felt like Mike Patton released a new album pretty much weekly, but in the years since his most prolific outbursts he’s certainly calmed down. Not musically, of course.

And now, after a pretty long wait (Patton’s last album, Mondo Cane, came out in May of last year, an eternity by Patton’s standards) he’s back with a new release…a film score based entirely around prime numbers, right down to its track listing (below) and release date (11.1.11, or November 1, 2011.) It’ll be called Music From The Film and Inspired By the Book The Solitude of Prime Numbers (La Solitudine Dei Numeri Primi) meaning yes, the former Faith No More frontman did just take a title super literally and craft what will probably be a super-eccentric back-beat to an otherwise trauma-filled film.

Check out the tracklist below, and as for what this’ll sound like? Patton says it’s a “sonic departure” from his usual stuff…which, if you’ve heard any of it, tells us absolutely nothing. [via Consequence of Sound]
