Mike Shinoda is set to make is debut as a film composer on the upcoming Indonesian martial arts film the Raid (incredibly violent trailer up top).

“For a long time, I have been wanting to score a film. In order for it to work, it would have to have a great story, stunning visuals, and the timing would have to work out in a way that didn’t distract from all the things I want to do with Linkin Park,” said the Linkin Park singer on his website.

The Raid is technically already sort of out, premiering at TIFF’s Midnight Madness earlier this week, but since Shinoda’s yet to score the thing, we’ll consider it a work in progress. North American distribution rights for the film have been negotiated, but the finished product doesn’t have a release date. We’ll speculate sometime in early 2012, though.
