James Brown died on December 25, 2006, and though it was ruled the cause of a heart attack, his publicist is now saying that she believes the singer was murdered, and has hired a private detective to prove it.

“I am living in fear of my life because I’m the one who can bring forth the truth,” says Jacque Hollander, and allegedly, she’s not the only one who is suspicious, saying that Brown’s son-in-law Darren Lumar was murdered in November 2008 for knowing the truth as well.

Hollander also claims her life has been threatened because of the investigation she started, one that has already prompted the detective to say “There’s something fishy here. The evidence speaks for itself.”

Tabloid scam? Maybe. Weird? Well, yeah. It’s James Brown. [via Spinner]
