This year’s Halifax Pop Explosion gets underway in a little over a month, and though it already boasted a pretty stellar schedule, another big show has been added to the list: Canadian favourites Stars will perform a free outdoor show at Grand Parade Square alongside Plants and Animals, Carmen Townsend, and Papermaps.

“We are excited to be able to present a large free concert as part of this year’s Halifax Pop Explosion,” says Executive Director, Jonny Stevens in a press release. “We look forward to welcoming thousands of fans of all ages to this event on Grand Parade Square in the heart of downtown Halifax.”

The Stars show will take place on Saturday, October 22, starting at 3 p.m., so you can take advantage of freeing up your nighttime schedule a bit by fitting ’em in early. For more festival details including full line-up and schedule, check out their site.
